maimai:FiNALE Course
FiNALE Course (FiNALEコース) is a combination of earlier mechanics Grade Certification and Survival Course. It's only available in maimai FiNALE, and contains songs from all versions. Grade Certification, added in maimai でらっくす Splash PLUS, reuses the mechanics of FiNALE Course.
General Information
Features same as Grade Certification
- It can only be chosen at track 1.
- Maximum 4 songs can be played regardless of the arcade's settings.
- Songs and difficulties are pre-determined.
- Locked Master charts in the course can be played directly, and can be unlocked if Rank S is achieved.
- A grade icon will be awarded for completing the course.
Features same as Survival Course
- Each course starts with a certain amount of Life, which would decrease for each non-Perfect judgment.
- Life would increase a certain amount when a song is passed, but will not exceed the starting value.
- The game ends immediately when Life reaches 0.
- Cheese is awarded when the course is completed.
- First completion of the day rewards 5 Cheese. Subsequent completions reward 1 Cheese each time.
New Features
- Grades from 初段 to 十段 are available since the beginning.
- When a course for a grade higher than the current grade is cleared for the first time, the player would be certified for that grade, and would receive a Rating bonus for that grade and all lower grades. (See below for details)
- When 十段 is completed, 皆伝 would be unlocked.
- When 皆伝 is completed, secret grades (裏 段位認定, ura grades) 初段 ~ 十段 would be unlocked.
- Since 2019/05/24, when 裏十段 is completed, 裏皆伝 would be unlocked.
- When 皆伝 is completed, secret grades (裏 段位認定, ura grades) 初段 ~ 十段 would be unlocked.
- When Life reaches 0:
- For normal grades, the game ends after the current song ends.
- For secret grades, the game ends immediately.
- All secret grades are considered to have a higher level than normal grades. That means 裏初段 would override 皆伝 as the grade icon on the upper screen.

Course Contents
Numbers in "Life config" means "Max Life/Damage per Great note/Damage per Good note/Damage per Miss note/Life recovery per completed song"
General Strategies
Normal grades are relatively easy, and are even easier than the Grade Certification courses of the same grade. As an estimate, if you can get Rank AAA or higher on all songs, you should be able to complete the course. If you can get Rank S or higher on all songs, it should be a piece of cake.
On the other hand, secret grades, including even 裏初段, are so hard that even skilled players can fail by accident. Most grades contain "landmine charts" that are unexpectedly hard and can throw people off. For example, 神室雪月花[EXP] in 裏初段 has very low BPM (86) with slow slide notes. No matter which secret grade you're going to play, it's better to avoid having unplayed charts.
Main landmine charts:
- 裏初段 神室雪月花[EXP]
- 裏三段 Jimang Shot[MST], Credits[EXP]
- 裏四段 円舞曲、君に[MST]
- 裏五段 All, if you're not good at slide notes
The Life config for secret grades is:
- 「50/-2/-3/-5/+10」 from 裏初段 to 裏五段, and
- 「50/-2/-3/-5/+5」 from 裏六段 to 裏十段.
What this means is that:
- On average, 20 damage per chart is permissible for lower grades(50 → 30+10 → 20+10 → 10+10)
- 16 damage per chart for higher grades (50 → 34+5 → 23+5 → 12+5)
- 50 damage per chart means instant failure
"20 damage per chart" means that only 10 Greats are permissible at most. If there are Goods and Misses, Life would decrease even more. If you're bad at a certain chart, taking 40 damage (20 Greats) for example, you'd have to get only 5 or fewer Greats for the other 3 charts. Higher grades are even more strict with only 8 Greats per chart.
Because of this, you'd have to get "almost All Perfect" (eg. 3-0-0, 0-0-1) on all 4 charts to have any hope at passing the course. Results eligible for 100% Sync (Full Combo without Goods) is also a good reference.
