Course rule:
- LIFE: 20
- Life -1 for each MISS judgment
- Life +20 for each ATTACK judgment or better
For the Japan version, the EXPERT versions of the two qualifying courses must be cleared for the MASTER versions to become playable. The song Viyella's Scream was also unlocked upon clearing "KING of Performai The 4th 予選① EXPERT".
Rankings were based on the total score of all songs across all courses. The top 8 Japan players and the top 2 international players advanced to their respective final tournaments.
Final tournament
Final song: To:Be Continued International final song: FLUFFY FLASH
For the Japan version's final tournament, the 8 players played in a single-elimination bracket format, with their seeding based on their ranking in the online qualifiers. Each contestant chose a song from the song pool below, and each group played the two songs. The same song could not be chosen twice by the same player (different charts of the same song can be selected). If both players pick the same song, the staff will choose a song from the pool of songs for that round. For the finals, one additional new song that the players had to sightread was selected as the third song.
For the International championship match, both players play a single three-song match. All three songs are chosen by the staff, of which the final song is a new song that the players had to sightread.
- If two players got the same total score, the player with a higher number of JUSTICE CRITICALs wins.
- If the number of JUSTICE CRITICALs is also the same, the player with a higher number of JUSTICEs wins.
- If the number of JUSTICEs is also the same, the player with a higher number of ATTACKs wins.
- If the number of ATTACKs is also the same, the staff would choose another song in the song pool for the players to compete again.

As before, the remaining 7 spots are given to the top 7 in the online qualifiers.
Qualifier song sets are also consistent between the Japan and international tournaments from this tournament onward; all players play on the same song sets and new songs for the qualifiers are released at the same time for both versions.

In the total score ranking of the three specified songs, the top 7 contestants nationwide advanced directly to the final tournament. Contestants ranked 8 to 15 advanced to the LCQ.
All players who cleared the event chapter earned the title "参加したぜ KING of Performai The 5th". Those who were eligible for the final tournament earned a special title.
Both TECHNICAL SCORE (T-SCORE) and PLATINUM SCORE (P-SCORE) were recorded, and the ranking was determined according to the following rules:
- The player with a higher total T-SCORE has a higher ranking.
- For players with the same total T-SCORE, the player with a higher total P-SCORE has a higher ranking.
- For players with the same total T-SCORE and total P-SCORE, the player who got the T-SCORE first has a higher ranking.
- The time recorded is only updated when the player gets a higher T-SCORE. (If only P-SCORE is higher, the time would not be updated)
Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ)
The LCQ was played between 8 players who ranked from 8 to 15 in the online qualifiers. The mini-tournament was split into two rounds:
- Round 1: All players play one chart selected from the LCQ's pool, and players are ranked based on their score for this song. The top 2 players advanced to the second round. If there is a tie, the players with the higher online qualifying ranking will take precedence.
- Round 2: The two contestants play a two-song match, with each choosing a song from the LCQ's song pool below. The winner of this round advanced to the final tournament.
If there are fewer than 8 participants in the LCQ, the mini-tournament happens as usual without any other players being bumped up, effectively ensuring players ranked 16th and below could not advance. If a player who won the LCQ later withdraws, another player may be bumped up based on their ranking in the LCQ. If there is no more than one player in the LCQ, the mini-tournament does not happen altogether.
