This tournament was the first to introduce the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier) round; the players ranked 8 to 15 in the online qualifiers will now partcipate in an extra in-person qualifier round to determine the 8th spot in the finals. The remaining 7 spots are given to the top 7 in the online qualifiers as before. | |||
Qualifier song sets are also consistent between the Japan and international tournaments from this tournament onward; all players play on the same song sets and new songs for the qualifiers are released at the same time for both versions. | |||
