- 神威 originates from the Korean arcade rhythm game, EZ2DJ 7thTRAX CLASS R -CODENAME:VIOLET-.
- The EZ2DJ series lost a lawsuit to KONAMI for being a beatmania clone. Because of this, song crossovers from EZ2DJ to Japanese music games were deemed impossible. However, because the composers retain the copyrights for EZ2DJ songs since 7th (EZ2DJ licensed the songs from the composers), SEGA was able to license 神威 from the composer without it officially being a crossover from EZ2DJ. Manbow, the organizer of BMS OF FIGHTERS events, wrote a blog post detailing the background information.
- Recently, EZ2ON REBOOT: R (an EZ2DJ's spinoff made by Neonovice) did a collaboration with TAITO's GROOVE COASTER WAI WAI PARTY!!!! and added 神威, being the first time of 神威 being crossed instead of licensed in a Japanese music game.

- The title Vanquisher in CHUNITHM (which also appears in the オンゲキ MASTER chart designer name), obtainable by getting Rank S on the MASTER chart, was the final unlockable title in EZ2DJ 7th CV.
- The title NOW TOP SECRET ACCESSING... in CHUNITHM, obtainable by getting Rank SSS on the MASTER chart, is the message displayed when entering the extra stage in EZ2DJ 7th CV.
- The CHUNITHM MASTER chart designer name parodies the game name "CODENAME:VIOLET".
- The WORLD'S END chart designer name "Space" references the game mode "Space Mix" (former name of the "14K MANIAC" game mode) in EZ2DJ, which the WORLD'S END chart recreates.
- In Revo@LC's comments about 神威, he said he "played it hundreds of times on the other side of the sea", which can only mean he went to Korea to play EZ2DJ.
- 神威 is an ateji for the Ainu word kamuy, which means "god".
- 神威 was added to CHUNITHM AIR PLUS at launch.
