Song Introduction
往年のセガゲームミュージックを、有名コンポーザーが大胆アレンジした [Reborn] シリーズ。原曲は、パステル調のグラフィックが印象的なシューティングゲーム『ファンタジーゾーン』で、ラスボスとの対決時に流れるBGMです。ラスボス戦らしく、緊張感を煽るような繰り返しのフレーズとリズムが、当時のプレイヤーの記憶には刻み込まれています。
アレンジを担当したのは、コンピューターゲーム黎明期より多数の名曲を生み出してきた古代祐三さん。1986年からゲームミュージック界で数多くの作品に参加されていて、自身も生粋のゲームファンであることでも有名です。
そんな古代さんによるアレンジは、大胆なことにラップ！ファンクなリズムに乗せて奏でられるリリック（歌詞）は、原曲のサントラ発売時に披露された歌詞を元にしたものだそうです。楽曲後半ではステージボスBGMのメロディがフィーチャーされていることからも、原作タイトルへの愛情が感じられます。

古代祐三:
この度はファンタジーゾーンの楽曲をアレンジさせていただく機会をいただけて大変光栄です。この曲を作られたHiroさんは私が学生時代にゲームミュージックに夢中になるきっかけを与えてくれた、あの「スペースハリアー」の作曲者でもあります。今聞いても色褪せない、抜群のメロディセンスと、FM音源やPCMを美しく操るプログラミング技術は、常に私の目標でした。
この『YA･DA･YO』はファンタジーゾーンのラスボスのテーマで、そのとても印象的なメロディには、裏設定？として歌詞が存在します。それをヒントにラップにしてみたらどうだろう？と思い立って作ってみました。歌詞の内容こそ本家とはやや異なりますが、ラッパーのKeithには日本語のYADAYO!を随所に入れてください、とリクエストしました。
トラックのテイストはエレクトロな要素を入った今風ではなく、あえて90年代風なレコードサンプリングの質感を目指しています。トラックメイキングはあの時代が一番魅力ありますね。あと隠し要素としてステージボスのBGMも入れてます。マニアの方ならすぐお分かりですよね。
