Trivia

  • Ievan Polkka was the very first song sung by Miku Hatsune to gain popularity, and established multiple traits that are associated with the character.
    • Its original video prominently features Miku waving a spring onion. This is a reference to the meme "Leekspin", which features Bleach character Orihime Inoue twirling a spring onion (misidentified as a leek) to the tune of the version of Ievan Polkka by Finnish a capella group Loituma. As a result, the spring onion/leek became Miku's signature item.
    • The chibi-style version of Miku seen in the original video, named "Miku Hachune" (はちゅねミク) has become well-known as an official "derivative character" of Miku.
  • Ievan Polkka was added to maimai MiLK PLUS on August 21st, 2018.
  • In Asian English versions of maimai, Ievan Polkka's artist was romanised as Otomania feat. Hatsune Miku.
  • Ievan Polkka received an UTAGE chart in maimai FiNALE on December 25th, 2018.
  • From maimai でらっくす to maimai でらっくす Splash PLUS, Ievan Polkka was used as the tutorial song for maimai.
    • Ievan Polkka was previously used as the tutorial music for the Project DIVA games.
    • After Ievan Polkka was removed from the Chinese versions of maimai in 舞萌DX and from the Asian versions of maimai in maimai DX スプラッシュ PLUS, it was replaced with different tutorial music.
  • Ievan Polkka was removed from 舞萌DX on August 7th, 2020. It was announced that it would return later, but it never did.
  • Ievan Polkka was removed from the Asian versions of maimai starting with maimai DX スプラッシュ PLUS.
